Before we know it, it will be that time of year when the leaves change colors, the temperatures begin to drop and Mother Nature starts to show off her wonderful fall colors. Fall is an incredible time of year for travel and we’ve put together some of our favorite options for great fall trips!
New Orleans:
New Orleans, aka the Big Easy, is known for its vibrant round-the-clock music scene, cuisine, and culture. This is a hot spot to visit in the fall. It’s football season, so be sure to catch a Saints game. It’s also the time for festivals now that autumn offers a reprieve from the summer heat. If you are into Southern Creole Cuisine, September hosts the Louisiana Seafood Festival that you won’t want to miss. October is a busy time in New Orleans, too, with The Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, The New Orleans Film Festival, and The Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival all taking place.
There are various events that are fun for all families during the fall season, but you will need lodging accommodations so you can stay in luxury. The Four Seasons New Orleans is now open, and we could not be more excited! This luxury hotel has transformed a 33-story landmark at the foot of Canal Street on the Mississippi waterfront. From the Four Seasons, you will enjoy enviable views of the river, Garden District, and across to the French Quarter. Bask in the musical tunings of live jazz jam sessions or explore the city’s history through walking tours. After a long day of exciting adventures in the city, recharge at the spa or rooftop pool, then indulge your taste buds with world-renowned cuisine at one of the four restaurants at the hotel.
As a Preferred Partner property and partner of Ourisman Travel, we are happy to extend the Preferred Partner amenities for your stay at Four Seasons New Orleans.

Napa:
Fall in Napa Valley is one of the most exciting times of year to visit. Harvest season in wine country takes place from August to October, bringing with it interesting ways to engage with the wine tasting experience. Though it is the busiest time of year to visit, mid-October is a time you won’t want to miss, when you can watch the colorful fall foliage transform the vineyards. For the adults, this the time to celebrate the Harvest at what many call, Harvest Parties; vineyard events where you can wine and dine (pun intended) and celebrate the season!
This fall, the anticipated Four Seasons Napa is set to open its doors! Set among the rolling hills of Napa Valley, with a Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard and on-site winery, this resort captures the imagination of even the most seasoned wine aficionado. An aesthetic of farmhouse chic, the 85 villas all include a fireplace and private terrace. With views of the vineyard and mountains, there’s a good view regardless of where you are in the resort.
As a Preferred Partner property and partner of Ourisman Travel, we are happy to extend the following amenities for your stay at Four Seasons Napa:

Another favorite hotel of ours in Wine Country is, Auberge du Soleil. An Auberge Resorts Collection, this resort showcases breathtaking views (the most famous panoramic views in Napa Valley) and is an infusion of Southern France Charm and Californian Soul. “Each of the 50 guestrooms and suites, housed in maisons named for towns in the south of France, evoke the stylish sophistication of Provence and extend a seamless connection between the luxurious residential interiors and the natural beauty outside.” There are unique experiences guests are able to have, from custom wine tours and tastings to cycling through the never-ending beauty of wine country, the options are limitless.

Autumn is a time for this State to literally glow, with the autumn leaves and the aurora borealis. Fall is also the time for great for cruises along the Alaskan coast with changes to spot whales! Our Tailored Luxury team is happy to help plan cruises and itineraries to remote Alaskan lodges. Don’t forget to pick up a fishing license –the silver salmon are still running, rainbow and steelhead trout are swimming and the lakes are open for business!
If you want that “in the wild” Alaskan experience, but still get the luxury treatment, stay at Tutka Bay Lodge, a resort that sits at the entrance to a splendidly rugged seven-mile fjord at the southern end of Kachemak Bay, near Homer, Alaska. Hawaii:
After the rush of summer vacation has subsided, the islands of Hawaii exude a laid-back vibe but continue to offer a wealth of opportunities to visitors with deals, fun events, and unique festivals. The Hawaii Food and Wine Festival (for adults 21 and older) is perfect if you want a taste of the islands’ cultural cuisines. But if you’ve got more of a coffee palate, get a ticket to the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival which takes place in November. In 2020, it will be the 50th celebration and is the oldest food festival in the Hawaiian Islands and, in addition to coffee, features cultural exchanges, music, dance, art and more!
