Four Seasons Hotel New York Reopens with a Modern Twist: Our Insider Experience & Team Retreat
The much-anticipated reopening of Four Seasons Hotel New York has brought new energy to Midtown Manhattan. Known for its timeless elegance and iconic status, this property has undergone thoughtful enhancements that blend modern updates with its signature sophistication. As a Top 30 Global Advisor with Four Seasons, our team was invited to experience the refreshed hotel firsthand during our company retreat—a visit that provided not only a behind-the-scenes look at this New York classic but also valuable time together to grow and strengthen our approach to serving clients.
Four Seasons New York: A Fresh Look at a Midtown Icon
Stepping inside the hotel, we were struck by how the upgrades enhance without overshadowing the hotel’s DNA. Four Seasons Hotel New York feels modern, yet it hasn’t lost the understated elegance that has always made it special. Some highlights of the enhancements include:
-
Lighting & Fixtures: Brighter, upgraded lighting adds a fresh feel throughout.
-
Interior Refresh: Updated carpets, drapery, furniture, and décor create a polished yet inviting atmosphere.
-
Exclusive Layout: With only six accommodations per floor, relocated elevators now create an even more private guest experience.
-
Bedding: Currently, Ty Warner mattresses are in use, but the signature Four Seasons bedding will roll out soon, ensuring the beloved sleep experience the brand is known for.
With 219 rooms, most are now spacious junior and one-bedroom suites offering sweeping views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline. In-room touches include Lavazza coffee machines, Bodum kettles, Natura Bissé toiletries, motorized drapes, and a seamless mobile app for easy service requests.
For a closer look at all the updates made, check out our blog review of our visit ahead of its reopening last year.
Rooms
During our retreat, we had the privilege of touring the Presidential Suite—an extraordinary space on the 51st floor complete with private terraces, a Steinway grand piano, and breathtaking views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline. We also experienced two of the hotel’s most sought-after accommodations firsthand. The Junior Suite City View offered a residential feel with oversized windows, a marble bathroom with a deep soaking tub, and thoughtful details like a custom lighted pedestal bed and separate makeup area. For additional space, the Manhattan Suite provided a true home-away-from-home atmosphere, with panoramic views of the Chrysler Building, a generous living room, dining area, and a marble bathroom featuring a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Together, these stays gave us a well-rounded perspective on the versatility and luxury that the Four Seasons Hotel New York offers its guests.
Dining at The Garden & Ty Bar
We made time to enjoy the newly imagined dining outlets:
-
The Garden Restaurant – An indoor oasis offering Italian-inspired menus and seasonal cocktails.
-
Ty Bar – Still the ultimate Midtown lounge, with art-deco vibes, rare whiskeys, and perfectly crafted cocktails.
These spaces are not only beautiful but also ideal for business meetings, celebratory dinners, or simply soaking in the hotel’s unique ambiance.
Looking Ahead
The Four Seasons New York is just getting started. Coming soon:

A new spa designed for world-class relaxation.
-
Extended-stay suites ranging from one to three bedrooms – ideal for longer stays in Manhattan.

Insider Luxury Travel Tips for NYC
Getting Around – Private cars offer comfort and reliability, especially for airport transfers, while Uber or taxis can be convenient for shorter trips around the city. For arrivals and departures, allow at least 60–90 minutes of travel time to and from JFK or Newark, and 45–60 minutes for LaGuardia, depending on traffic.
Booking Advice – The best times to plan a luxury stay in New York are spring (April–June) and fall (September–November) when the city is at its most vibrant and hotel availability is wider. Booking early ensures access to the most desirable suites and Preferred Partner perks.
Dining Strategies – Top New York restaurants book out weeks in advance. Take advantage of the Four Seasons concierge team, who can often secure otherwise impossible-to-get reservations or plan dining experiences as soon as you confirm your stay. The concierge team is Les Clefs d’Or certified, ensuring guests experience the highest level of personalized service. Known for its world-class service, the Four Seasons New York continues to deliver on this reputation with small yet impactful upgrades.
