Welcome to Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol
Nestled within the picturesque Cabo Del Sol development, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol is an oasis of luxury. This resort combines the charm of a modern hacienda with the sophistication expected from the Four Seasons brand, as highlighted by the many Four Seasons Cabo reviews. The property boasts stunning ocean views, private plunge pools, and an ambiance that blends seamlessly with the natural beauty of Baja California Sur.
Two Luxuries, One Destination: Costa Palmas vs. Cabo Del Sol
You might be thinking, “Doesn’t Four Seasons already have a property in Cabo?” They do, but it’s situated in Costa Palmas, about an hour north of San Jose del Cabo Airport. Four Seasons found that at least one-third of guests at their Costa Palmas resort extend their stay by booking at competing luxury hotels in Los Cabos. The two Los Cabos Four Seasons resorts resemble two Hawaii properties: the vibrant Four Seasons Maui at Wailea and the serene Hualalai. The new Cabo del Sol property mirrors Four Seasons Maui’s role, where luxury meets visibility.
Four Seasons Cabo Map
The Four Seasons Cabo map offers a detailed layout of Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol, highlighting public spaces, accommodations, and facilities.
- Public Areas: Marked in black, key spots include the main entrance, spa & fitness, yoga studio, pools like Coraluz, Brisal, and dining/shopping areas like Mercado, Palmerio, Cayao, Baja 360, and Mandala Boutique.
- La Casona Rooms, Casitas, and Suites: Indicated in red, these accommodations offer luxury with all being ocean-view and oceanfront, scattered for optimal views and privacy.
- Residences, Villas, and Estates: In green, Private Retreats provide community and privacy, all ocean-view and oceanfront.
- Oceanfront Villas: Highlighted in orange, these are the resort’s luxury pinnacle, beachfront with sea access, including the Oceanfront Three-Bedroom Presidential Villa (231/233/235) and One Bedroom Oceanfront Villas (337, 339, 341).
Arrival
Arriving at Four Seasons Cabo del Sol feels like entering a serene Mediterranean village, with its hacienda-style buildings and calming arches. The scent of tropical flowers mingles with the sound of rustling palms.
I had the privilege of visiting Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol as Ourisman Travel’s grand prize for ranking in the top 30 travel advisors globally with Four Seasons, and my excitement was palpable as I was greeted by “La Casona,” the heart of the resort, where the lobby transforms from traditional check-ins into a cozy living room vibe.
A concierge greeted us with a birdcage housing two birds, Plumita and Panchito, from which we could draw a scroll holding a personal welcome message.
The lobby’s high ceilings and warm wood blend indoor comfort with outdoor beauty. Bellmen whisked away our luggage, and we were handed agua frescas as staff discreetly managed our check-in, ushering us into a world where relaxation reigns.
Accommodations:
Rooms, Casitas, and Suites
The accommodations at Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol are a testament to luxury and style. The room design incorporates chic Mexican designs that blend comfort with aesthetic appeal. The modernization of traditional Spanish architecture emphasizes an indoor-outdoor flow with panoramic sliding glass doors for enjoying the environment.
Located in the La Casona building, entry-level guest rooms start at 850 square feet, while Casitas and Suites scattered throughout the resort range up to 2,000 square feet with ground-floor accommodations featuring private plunge pools and upper-level units featuring connecting options creating two bedrooms.
The Casitas and Suites are generously sized, offering around 1,200 square feet indoors, complemented by an extra 500-800 square feet of outdoor area, which can be either a balcony or a plunge pool, blending indoor and outdoor living effortlessly. The in-room amenities, like charging pads on the nightstand, bedside controls, iPad for in-room services, Diptyque bath amenities, a Nespresso coffee machine, and a Fellow tea kettle, ensure a comfortable and modern stay.
We encountered some new resort issues, like a sewage smell in our initial Suite, which prompted a swift upgrade to a Suite with a plunge pool, transforming the unpleasant experience into one of pure bliss. We stayed in an Oceanfront Casita Suite with Plunge Pool, which embodied luxury and comfort, providing an exclusive and intimate experience directly by the ocean. Upon arrival, the room was adorned with beach hats and a beach bag that not only prepared me for my seaside adventures but also doubled as charming decor.
The Suites are particularly ideal for families, featuring a separation between the living area and bedroom, along with an additional full bathroom equipped with a shower but no tub. They offer either ocean-view or oceanfront views. Additionally, Casitas and Suites with a plunge pool include a large shelf seat, making it easier and safer to enjoy pool time with small children.
Added bonus: my Suite was outfitted with a Dyson hair dryer, an exclusive benefit for those booking Suite categories or above!
Lastly, in terms of privacy, I’d rate most accommodations as semi-private. Each accommodation features outdoor drapes, but with units nearby, you’ll have neighbors either above or below and next door. Ground-level rooms offer easy access to lawn games, sports, and the beach, yet the shared use of the lawn by guests and staff definitely reduces privacy. The sliding door locks were also problematic, affecting the AC, but fixes are in progress.
Pro-tip: For those traveling with a baby, opt for a Suite with a plunge pool. This ensures a ground-floor location, simplifying stroller navigation. These accommodations feature a large, well-ventilated walk-in closet with a door, ideal for setting up a crib. Additionally, they offer ample shaded outdoor areas, perfect for keeping babies cool. The plunge pool adds the convenience of relaxing by the water while your baby naps, all within the comforts of your Suite. And, not only did the handy bar sink serve up cocktails, it also doubled as a bottle-washing station – talk about a multitasking hero!

Villas
There are just three (One Bedroom) Oceanfront Villas, which are pretty impressive. I suggest these villas for couples due to their spaciousness and exclusivity. However, they’re not ideal for families with children due to limited space beyond the living room, no connecting options, and access to the master bedroom is through the closet, in contrast to the Suites.
The Oceanfront Three-Bedroom Presidential Villa at Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol is perfect for families or groups, featuring private oceanfront access, a modern interior with a show kitchen, a private gym, three spacious bedrooms with luxurious bathrooms, and expansive terraces with three plunge pools and a full-size swimming pool, all offering stunning ocean views.

Private Retreats
The Private Retreats stand out with options from two to five bedrooms, all featuring private full-size pools perfect for enjoying stunning sunsets. They offer a touch of sophistication with a villa host for personalized service, catering to the most discerning guests. Additional benefits include a private chef, pre-stocked groceries, special tequila, and mezcal tastings, among other amenities.
Activities
Resort Pools
At Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol, luxury and design shine through in three distinct pools.
- Brisal Pool: An adult-only oasis designed for peace and relaxation. It’s spacious and serene, with well-kept waters perfect for swimming laps or floating calmly. The pool’s meticulous maintenance ensures a pristine environment, reflecting Four Seasons’ high standards.
- Coraluz Pool: The vibrant counterpart, tailored for families with its splash pad and shallow entry. This design mimics a natural beach, ensuring safety and fun for kids while providing comfort for adults.
- Lap Pool: Adjacent to the gym, this pool caters to guests wanting to blend their fitness routine with the resort’s aquatic features, ideal for exercise or post-workout relaxation for those looking to maintain their wellness regime while on vacation.
Both the Brisal and Coraluz pools provide private, indulgent retreats through their cabanas, equipped with large couches, TVs, drinks, fruit, lounge chairs, and fans, making them essential for relaxation, family fun, and personalized luxury.
One of my top 5-star resort features: Smart buttons around the pool areas enhance your luxury retreat with easy, contactless refreshment access and tailored services for efficiency and exclusivity.

Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol Beach
The resort boasts a stunning beachfront, where the drama of the ocean meets the rugged beauty of rocky formations and the rhythm of the waves, where inviting loungers and daybeds are ready for your relaxation. From November to April, this spot offers the perfect front-row seat for thrilling whale watching just offshore.
Whether the Four Seasons Cabo del Sol beach is suitable for swimming is subjective. With rocks, reefs, and unpredictable currents, it’s more tailored for experienced swimmers and those eager to engage in adventurous water sports, all while enjoying the beach’s raw beauty. For the adventurous, there’s a nearby boat dock ideal for jumping, diving, and snorkeling, and the Baja 360 water activity staff at the resort are available to take guests out for guided snorkel tours, stand-up paddle boarding sessions, and surf lessons, providing various water-based adventures for guests to enjoy. However, if a swimmable beach is your top priority, this hotel might not be the best fit, especially for children or those looking for a more relaxed swim.
Compared to Santa Maria Bay at Montage Los Cabos, which features a sheltered bay and a sandy beach perfect for swimming, the Montage is more suitable for leisurely swimming and families with young children, also providing exceptional snorkeling experiences.
Here, the allure isn’t found in typical beach activities but in the unique thrill of water sports and the mesmerizing experience of watching the sea dance from your private sanctuary, ideal for those desiring tranquility with a hint of adventure.
Cabo Del Sol Golf
Golf aficionados will find paradise here with Cabo Del Sol, home to two exceptional courses—the private Cove Club Golf Course (formerly the Ocean Course) and the Cabo Del Sol Course (formerly the Desert Course).
The Cove Club, designed by Tom Weiskopf, was the first to put Los Cabos golf on the map, continuing to attract golfers worldwide with its challenging play and stunning Pacific views, weaving through arroyos and cliffs for a scenic golf journey.
If you’re short on time, prioritize Cabo Del Sol’s Desert Course for skill and Costa Palmas for views and walkability, especially on the first six holes, as recommended by Golf Digest.
As a Four Seasons guest, you can enjoy the Desert Course, where the resort provides privileged access, ensuring both luxury and recreation. However, you can’t play at the private Cabo del Sol Ocean Course unless you’re a member, a guest of a member, or buying property in Cabo del Sol, which could potentially grant you access.
Spa & Wellness
At Tierra Mar Spa, holistic and therapeutic experiences redefine well-being, offering a blend of wellness and fitness activities alongside a comprehensive spa menu. I enjoyed the Abrazo del Luna spa treatment, which featured a quartz and chakra-balancing massage and a cleansing lymphatic drainage facial with specialized stones and minerals for a rejuvenating experience. Talk about a 3-hour escape for this mom – it was like finding the Holy Grail of ‘me-time’!
I also had a manicure with Lina, who introduced me to Dazzle Dry polish, which dries in five minutes without UV light and lasts over 14 days without chipping, making me swear off acrylics and gel nails.
The fitness center boasts a main gym with new Hoist machines, a barbell rack, an outdoor workout area, and a separate studio for classes like the Energetic Breathing session led by Javier, where we practiced breath work.
Dining
Four Seasons Cabo Restaurants & Bars
At Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol, dining is a culinary journey across eight unique venues, blending Mexican heritage with global cuisine for an immersive experience of flavors, culture, and nature, making each meal unforgettable.
Start your day at Palmerio with a vibrant breakfast buffet featuring fresh fruits like pineapple, watermelon, and cantaloupe, artisanal pastries like croissants and conchas, and a variety of cereals from Fruit Loops to granola, all elegantly presented.
They also have a Waffle Bar where you can customize your waffles with crumbles, gummy bears, sprinkles, chocolate chips, and drizzles of peanut butter, Nutella, maple syrup, or honey. And let’s be clear, this isn’t just a playground for the 12 and under crowd; adults can indulge in their inner child’s dream breakfast too, because who says you need to grow up when it comes to waffles?
Not into buffets? The à la carte menu lets you choose options like green juice, smoothies, eggs benedict, or epic chilaquiles, each priced separately, for a tailored dining experience.
For those who enjoy the experience of a cafe, Mercado is a must-visit experience offering coffee, freshly baked pastries, creamy gelato, hearty sandwiches, and a selection of fine wines and beers. It’s a model all luxury resorts should consider adopting to enhance their guests’ stay with this delightful, all-encompassing culinary hub!
Lastly, Cayao stood out with its innovative Peruvian-Japanese fusion, offering bold, unforgettable flavors. This blend is highlighted by dishes like edamame, ceviche nikkei, sashimi, and ishiyaki hot stone. Don’t skip the edamame at Cayao; it’s not your average edamame. And for a theatrical touch, don’t miss the flaming hot coffee. However, its high cost makes it a special occasion splurge.
- Palmerio: Offers breakfast in the morning and Mediterranean cuisine with French and Italian influences at night, celebrating coastal flavors.
- Coraluz: A beachside gem where guests can enjoy fresh, Baja-inspired Mexican dishes in a casual yet sophisticated setting.
- Cayao: A new addition to the resort, famous for its Nikkei cuisine, blending Peruvian and Japanese flavors.
- Mercado: The vibrant heart of La Plaza — a café and marketplace featuring specialty coffee, freshly baked pastries, local bites, gelato, wines, and spirits.
- Sora: Known for its spectacular sunset views, this rooftop bar spot is perfect for enjoying craft cocktails and light bites.
- La Casona: Lobby bar with exquisite cocktails in a chic setting, blending Mexican spirits with Mediterranean flavors for pre-dinner or nightcap enjoyment.
- Bar Brisal: A casual poolside bar by the adults-only pool, ideal for enjoying Cabo sunshine with cocktails and light, sharable food.
- Bar Coraluz: Lively outdoor bar by the family pool, offering agave spirits, cocktails, wines, and beers with Baja Mexico’s beach club vibe.
Family at Four Seasons
At Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol, the resort caters to families through their complimentary “Papalote” Kids for all Seasons program for children aged 4 to 12, babysitting services, and the Baja 360° Adventure center for tweens and teens, providing opportunities for kids to socialize and for parents to relax. Specifically for infants, the resort offers:
- Stokke Tripp Trapp® high chairs for restaurant dining
- Stokke Clikk™ high chairs for in-room use
- Organic bath amenities
- Distilled water
- Diaper genie
- Crib
To be fully transparent, as a first-time parent with a baby, I found accessibility to be quite a workout – something I never paid attention to before having a child! But thanks to my husband and elevators in the La Casona and Cayao/Sora buildings, reaching the Sora rooftop bar for a cocktail and enjoying creamy gelato at Mercado became possible. Consider this your personal invitation to hit the gym for a few weeks, as who knew luxury travel could double as a fitness regime?
Conclusion: Four Seasons Cabo del Sol vs. Los Cabos Luxury Hotels
Among the luxury resorts in Los Cabos, Four Seasons stands out for its commitment to excellence. Despite minor issues typical of a new establishment, the beauty, service, and culinary experiences compensate well and is going to be a top luxury option for clients seeking luxury accommodations in Cabo.
Staying at Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol offers a unique experience with its distinctive “macienda” architectural style, blending colonial charm with modern design, setting it apart from Cabo’s typical luxury resort aesthetics. Additionally, the resort provides exclusive accommodations like Private Retreats and Villas, ranging from two to five bedrooms, with private pools, gourmet kitchens, and personalized services, including a villa host, offering a level of privacy and customization not commonly found elsewhere. Lastly, its location provides direct access to one of Cabo’s few subjectively swimmable beaches, enhancing your connection with the ocean in a way other luxury resorts in Cabo cannot match.
If exploring more luxury resorts in Cabo interests you, we can provide similar benefits at these resorts, each enhancing Cabo’s luxury scene and offering unique charm.
