Alternatively, you can opt to hire a helicopter for the transfer, with a flying time of approximately one hour.

As a final option, you could drive from Puerto Vallarta to Four Seasons Tamarindo. However, it is a 5-hour drive (with traffic) with minimal stops along the way. While the route is safe, it is not the most convenient, and we typically recommend opting for a flight instead.

I will say there is not much to explore outside of the reserve. There is no bustling tourist town nearby to dine and get drinks. So, this is an authentic resort experience.
