Top Babymoon Destinations

During pregnancy, there’s nothing a woman wants to do more than relax and be pampered. Life is about to get a lot more hectic, so taking the extra time for R&R is very important. This is the concept of a Babymoon exists and has become so popular. Babymoons are what many could call a honeymoon 2.0, a time to get away for expecting moms and their partners to reconnect before welcoming their new baby into the world.  Whether you travel early in your pregnancy to a faraway destination or stay closer to home as your due date approaches, there are a variety of hotels and resorts that will meet your needs. We have highlighted some properties with particularly luxurious spas, special offer packages and amenities specifically for the parents-to-be. Though there is no one perfect destination to take that last getaway, these destinations should be on your babymoon bucket list.

BAHAMAS

Ah, the Bahamas…someplace warm, not too hot, especially if you make this a winter getaway. It’s the perfect temperature to avoid too many layers. Experience blue skies, sunshine and average temps in the high 70s. The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar or Rosewood Baha Mar set you right on the crystal blue waters where you can sit back and relax in a beach chair or at your private poolside cabana. You can also try your luck at the casino or simply hit the spa, get a massage or facial and sip on a mocktini. Leaving any stress, care or worries behind.

HAWAII

It’s fairly obvious that Hawaii would make for a perfect babymoon destination; especially if you’re flying from the west coast. With nonstop options from most west coast airports, travel is a breeze. Here, you’ve got comfortable temperatures year-round, and you have a selection of islands. Oh, and there’s plenty of spas, time to soak in the sun, eat fresh, healthy food, and take long coastal walks.

We cannot picture a more perfect babymoon than one at the Four Seasons Maui or Mauna Lani. The Four Seasons Maui has thought of everything to make soon to be mommas feel extra comfortable. From neonatal massages in the spa to the 15, 30 and 50 SPF available complimentarily at every pool, so you never have to worry about getting too much sun on your bump. Mauna Lani offers serenity and tranquility through nature. But this spot is especially good for the father-to-be, with a beautiful golf course.

FLORIDA

You’re craving to get your toes in the sand but don’t want to travel far or require a passport? Florida is a great destination for you! Amelia Island is the perfect spot in Florida to take your babymoon, located in the northernmost part of East Florida. It provides a Southern flair with pristine beaches, Spanish moss, Victorian-era architecture, and pirate folklore. Amelia Island is a natural paradise with a variety of Natural Parks to keep you entertained and active during your stay; you’ll spot wildlife and comb the beaches. At the Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island, the spa offers a variety of treatments; the 60-minute “Mellow Mama” provides a complete body massage using specific prenatal techniques to increase circulation, alleviate tired muscles and reduce water retention.

Mothers-to-be should also consider their babymoon in Palm Beach. Especially if golden sand and gorgeous weather sound like the way to relax before the baby arrives, check into the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach. Here, babymooners will experience sophisticated personalized services.

MEXICO

Take your babymoon to Mexico, where resorts have revolutionized the concept of all-inclusive and specialize in caring for soon to be mothers…and even fathers to be. Thus there is no better place to surrender your schedule than a luxury resort in Mexico, enjoying scenic coastlines, waterfront pools, and luxury spas.

There’s nothing like an ultra-luxury all-inclusive resort to keep a mama-to-be happy, and Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit is a top choice for babymoons. The resort is home to a leading spa offering more than 30 treatments, including the Maternal Caress, a prenatal massage that promises to foster a connection between mom and baby by way of natural balms and essential oils. You can also take a swim in the oceanfront infinity pool and sip on virgin fruit daiquiri at the swim-up bar.

BORA BORA

If you’re looking to have the most romantic escape before you become a family of three (or more), French Polynesia is the spot to hit. Experience overwater bungalows, volcanic stone massages and the best rejuvenation you could ask for before your life takes a turn!

At The Four Seasons Bora Bora, you can expect golf carts at the ready to take you from your bungalow wherever you want to go. The resort offers a variety of activities and off-property excursions but if you are further along in your pregnancy and want to maximize your time at your own pace, enjoy snorkeling in the lagoon, & hanging out in your bungalow.

Another great option among the many fabulous resorts in Bora Bora is the St. Regis. The effortless elegance of this luxury hotel brings you personalized service and memorable experiences. Stay in overwater bungalows with Butler service. Simply press the butler button on the telephone and request what you need. Wake up with a cup of orange juice and full breakfast. Best of all, have it delivered to your personal deck overlooking your private pool and ocean. We don’t know what is better than that!

ENGLAND

If sun and sand aren’t speaking to you, consider hopping across the pond for your babymoon getaway. The Cotswolds, nestled in England’s most beautiful countryside, Ellenborough Park is like stepping into a dreamy English fairytale! The vast manor estate provides babymooners an ideal space for relaxation and reflection. And the spa is something you won’t want to miss!

If you are more of a city person, take your babymoon to London. The Connaught has created a blissful babymoon experience for expecting couples. Enjoy spa amenities, top-rated dining, and comfortable accommodations.

Tips for Babymoon Packing:

  • Your skin is more sensitive during pregnancy, so be sure to wear a stronger sunscreen than you are used to.
  • Keep a list of emergency contacts.
  • If you are traveling out of the country, make sure you create a list of local hospitals from the embassy or tourist board.
  • Consult your doctor before taking part in any “dangerous” sports, such as diving or water sports.
  • Bring a record of your medical notes, including relevant ultrasounds, with you in case you need to go into hospital or deliver early.
  • Relax and enjoy yourself on what could be your last diaper-free break for a while.

Before you know it, it will take an army to plan and pack for a vacation. This is why a babymoon is beneficial to take, so you can relax as well as reconnect with your significant other before adding on to the family. Regardless of your due date, there is a perfect getaway to celebrate the upcoming addition to your family. Where will you go?
