Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort: The Complete Stay Guide

When travelers ask us about the most romantic luxury resort in Cabo, our answer is almost always the same: Las Ventanas al Paraiso.

Las Ventanas has been setting the standard for luxury hospitality in Los Cabos long before Cabo became the luxury destination it is today. While newer resorts continue to arrive with larger suites, contemporary architecture, and increasingly ambitious dining programs, Las Ventanas remains one of the most sought-after addresses in Cabo for a much simpler reason: service.

As the only resort in Los Cabos to hold both Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond status, Las Ventanas has built a reputation around personalization, consistency, and attention to detail. And after spending time at the resort ourselves, we understand why so many guests return year after year.

Today, the resort includes 84 accommodations across 66 suites, five villas, 12 Signature Beach Villas, luxury residences, and the legendary 28,000-square-foot Ty Warner Mansion. Guests can choose from five distinct dining venues, spend their days at one of the resort’s multiple pools, or unwind at one of the most celebrated spas in Mexico.

Cabo has no shortage of exceptional luxury resorts, from contemporary newcomers to long-established icons. We’ve visited many of the destination’s top properties and regularly compare them in our Top Luxury Resorts in Cabo: Which Is Best? guide. Even among that impressive group, Las Ventanas continues to stand apart.

In this guide, we’ll cover accommodations, dining, wellness, service, who the resort is best suited for, how it compares to other luxury hotels in Cabo, and the Rosewood Elite benefits available through Ourisman Travel.

Quick Take — Is Las Ventanas Right for You?

Stay at Las Ventanas If…

  • You want one of the most service-driven luxury experiences in Cabo.
  • You’re celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, engagement, proposal, or milestone birthday.
  • You appreciate authentic Mexican craftsmanship over contemporary minimalist design.
  • You value personalized service and recognition.
  • You want one of the best spas in Mexico attached to your resort.
  • You’re looking for a quieter atmosphere.
  • You’re traveling with a pet and want a genuinely pet-friendly luxury experience.

Consider Something Else If…

  • A swimmable beach is your top priority.
  • You prefer the newest accommodations in the area.
  • You want a lively, social atmosphere throughout the day.
  • You’re traveling with very young children who will spend most of their vacation in the ocean.
  • You prefer a modern aesthetic over traditional Mexican design.

Best Picks by Traveler Type

Best for Honeymooners and Anniversary Travelers

This is where Las Ventanas shines brightest. Between the Director of Romance, private dining experiences, Signature Villas, Arbol’s famous Sunken Tables, and countless customized experiences, the resort feels purpose-built for couples. For honeymooners and anniversary trips, Las Ventanas remains our top recommendation.

Best for Repeat Luxury Travelers

Many guests return year after year, and the resort does an exceptional job recognizing and celebrating those return visits. One of the most charming examples is the glass heart tradition. Guests receive a glass heart at checkout, with different colors representing the number of stays they’ve completed. It’s a small gesture, but one that perfectly reflects the property’s commitment to creating emotional connections.

Best for Groups and Multigenerational Families

The Signature Villas, residences, and Ty Warner Mansion make Las Ventanas an excellent option for milestone family celebrations, reunions, and private group getaways.

Best for Design Lovers

Hand-carved furnishings, artisan tilework, traditional textiles, and authentic Mexican craftsmanship create a strong sense of place throughout the resort. While some travelers may gravitate toward newer contemporary resorts, Las Ventanas feels far more rooted in its destination than many newer luxury resorts.

Best for Travelers with Pets

Las Ventanas takes pet travel more seriously than almost any luxury resort in Cabo. The Canine Delight program includes pet cabanas, custom meals, dog butlers, curated walks, and even canine spa treatments.

Location — The Tourist Corridor Between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas

Las Ventanas occupies a prime stretch of coastline between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Guests can reach either town in roughly 15 to 20 minutes. The hotel sits directly along the Sea of Cortez and is surrounded by the Robert Trent Jones II-designed Cabo Real Golf Course.

Despite being one of the larger luxury resorts in Cabo, the property never felt sprawling or difficult to navigate. Most restaurants, pools, and public spaces are within a five-minute walk. Some luxury resorts in Los Cabos require constant golf cart transportation between accommodations, pools, and restaurants. While golf carts are readily available at Las Ventanas, we found the resort surprisingly walkable, and most areas can be reached within about five minutes on foot.

Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) is approximately 20 to 30 minutes away, making arrivals and departures relatively painless compared to destinations where guests face lengthier transfer times.

The Beach (An Honest Assessment)

Let’s address the biggest question immediately. No, the beach at Las Ventanas is not swimmable. Strong currents, rough surf, and changing ocean conditions make swimming unsafe throughout much of the year. The resort offsets this by offering alternatives so that the lack of ocean swimming rarely feels like a meaningful sacrifice. Between the multiple pools, private cabanas, and stunning views of the Sea of Cortez, we found ourselves enjoying the waterfront setting without ever wishing we could jump into the ocean.

Travelers who prioritize swimming, snorkeling, or paddleboarding directly from the beach may prefer another resort.  If floating in calm ocean water, paddleboarding directly from the beach, or snorkeling steps from your room are important parts of your vacation, Las Ventanas may not be the right fit.

Properties like Montage Los Cabos, Chileno Bay, and Four Seasons Costa Palmas offer significantly better beach access and swimmable water. For a deeper comparison, see our Luxury Resorts with Swimmable Beaches in Cabo guide.

Las Ventanas Resort Map & Property Layout

Despite its expansive footprint, Las Ventanas is surprisingly easy to navigate. The open-air lobby serves as the heart of the resort, with restaurants, pools, and many of the suites all within a short walk. Signature Beach Villas occupy some of the property’s most private oceanfront locations, while the residences are tucked into quieter areas better suited for longer stays and multigenerational travel. The iconic Ty Warner Mansion sits within its own secluded section of the resort, functioning almost like a private resort within the resort itself.

One of the things we appreciated most during our stay was that Las Ventanas never felt crowded. Multiple pools, thoughtfully distributed accommodations, and well-spaced restaurants naturally disperse guests throughout the property, creating a relaxed atmosphere even during peak season.

Resort Map

For a better understanding of how the resort is laid out, including the locations of accommodations, restaurants, pools, spa facilities, and beachfront areas, we’ve included the official Las Ventanas Resort Map below.

Suites, Villas & Residences at Las Ventanas

Las Ventanas al Paraíso offers 84 total accommodations, including 66 suites, five villas, 12 Signature Beach Villas, luxury residences, and the legendary Ty Warner Mansion.

Entry-level suites generally start in the low four figures per night, while Signature Villas, Residences, and the Ty Warner Mansion can cost several times more depending on the season. Because rates fluctuate considerably throughout the year, we always recommend checking current pricing before booking. If you’re unsure whether it’s worth upgrading, we’d almost always prioritize moving into a Signature Villa over simply booking a larger standard suite for milestone celebrations and longer stays.

Room selection matters more here than at many Cabo resorts. While every accommodation delivers the resort’s signature service, each category offers a distinctly different experience, making it worth choosing based on your travel style rather than simply your budget.

Suites

Unlike many luxury resorts, Las Ventanas doesn’t offer traditional hotel rooms. Even the entry-level suites feel residential, with hand-carved wood furnishings, artisan tilework, conchuela limestone floors, fireplaces, spacious terraces, and indoor-outdoor living spaces inspired by traditional Mexican haciendas.

The design feels timeless rather than trend-driven. Travelers seeking ultra-contemporary interiors may prefer newer resorts like Four Seasons Cabo del Sol, but Las Ventanas has intentionally preserved the authentic character that has defined the property for decades. For many repeat guests, that’s part of its appeal.

Villas

The experience shifts noticeably once you move into the villas. Private infinity pools, open-air kitchens, expansive terraces, multiple bedrooms, and dedicated entertaining spaces create the feeling of a private home while still enjoying full access to the resort’s amenities and service.

For milestone celebrations, multigenerational families, or couples seeking additional privacy, the villas offer a level of exclusivity that feels distinctly different from a traditional resort stay.

Signature Beach Villas

The 12 Signature Beach Villas are among the resort’s most sought-after accommodations. Most exceed 4,500 square feet and function as fully private residences with direct access to all resort facilities.

Their defining feature is the dedicated Villa Host. Acting as a single point of contact throughout the stay, the Villa Host coordinates everything from dining reservations and spa appointments to in-villa experiences, creating one of the most personalized service experiences in Los Cabos.

For honeymooners, anniversary trips, and milestone celebrations, these are among our favorite accommodations on the property.

Our Experience Touring the One-Bedroom Oceanview Signature Villa with Wellness Room

During our visit, we toured the One-Bedroom Oceanview Signature Villa with Wellness Room, and its scale immediately stood out. The expansive living areas, oversized outdoor spaces, and private pool made it feel far more like a luxury residence than a hotel suite. The outdoor terrace offered plenty of space to lounge, dine, and relax, while the pool was large enough to comfortably swim rather than simply cool off—a feature that’s surprisingly uncommon, even among luxury resort villas.

The dedicated wellness room includes cardio equipment, free weights, and space for private workouts. If having an in-room bike is important to you, let your advisor know before arrival. The resort can often provide a stationary spin bike in your villa upon request, while Peloton bikes are reserved for the fitness center and subject to availability.

What impressed us most, however, was the bathroom. It was one of the largest we’ve seen in any luxury resort, with multiple vanity areas, generous closets, oversized soaking spaces, and enough room to comfortably spread out during longer stays. It felt more like the primary bathroom in a private home than a resort villa, and perfectly reflected the residential feel that defines Las Ventanas’ Signature Villas.

The Ty Warner Mansion

No discussion of Las Ventanas accommodations is complete without the Ty Warner Mansion. Spanning 28,000 square feet, it ranks among the most extraordinary private accommodations in Mexico.

Designed by architect Jorge Torres and interior designer Robert Couturier, the estate features dual oceanfront primary suites, 30-foot retractable glass walls, private pools, dedicated staff, expansive entertaining spaces, custom furnishings, and exceptional privacy.

While few travelers will ever book it, the Ty Warner Mansion has become one of Cabo’s most iconic ultra-luxury accommodations and remains a benchmark for milestone celebrations, executive retreats, and multigenerational family gatherings.

Residences

For longer stays, the residences offer a different experience altogether. Available in one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations ranging from approximately 5,200 to more than 9,000 square feet, they are designed for guests who want the comforts of a private home without sacrificing resort amenities.

Residential kitchens, expansive indoor-outdoor living areas, oversized terraces, and flexible layouts make them particularly well-suited for multigenerational families, groups of friends, and extended stays. For travelers planning a week or more in Cabo, they are among the strongest residential-style accommodations in the destination.

Room Category Comparison

The table below serves as a starting point, though we always recommend discussing room selection before booking, particularly during peak travel periods.

How to Choose the Right Room

If you’re struggling to narrow down the options, here’s where we’d start.

Couples on shorter stays

  • Ocean View Junior Suite
  • Rooftop Terrace Suite

Honeymooners and anniversary travelers

  • Signature Beach Villa

Families with children

  • Two-Bedroom Suite
  • Three-Bedroom Family Suite

Multigenerational groups

  • Residences
  • Ty Warner Mansion

Longer stays

  • Residences

Guests prioritizing service and privacy

  • Signature Beach Villas

One final note: Las Ventanas attracts a significant number of repeat guests, and premium categories often sell out surprisingly far in advance, particularly during holiday periods, spring break, and peak winter season. If you’re considering a specific suite, villa, or residence category, we generally recommend booking as early as possible.

Dining at Las Ventanas

Dining is one of the defining parts of a stay at Las Ventanas. Rather than offering multiple restaurants that feel interchangeable, each venue has its own personality, making it easy to enjoy several meals on property without the experience becoming repetitive.

Arbol

If you’re staying at Las Ventanas, Arbol should be at the top of your dining list. Blending Asian influences with Baja ingredients and Japanese techniques, it’s one of the most romantic restaurants in Los Cabos and a destination in its own right. You can view Arbol’s current menu before your visit to explore the restaurant’s signature dishes and seasonal offerings.

During our visit, the lobster fried rice was the standout dish, followed closely by the beautifully prepared sashimi trio. As impressive as the food was, the setting is what truly makes Arbol unforgettable. At sunset, the Sea of Cortez glows in shades of pink and gold while live musicians perform and fire features illuminate the outdoor dining spaces.

Be sure to reserve one of Arbol’s famous sunken tables if available. These semi-private dining spaces have become one of the resort’s signature experiences and can be enhanced with champagne, floral arrangements, fireworks, and other special touches coordinated by the Director of Romance.

Alebrije

Alebrije celebrates authentic Mexican cuisine with refined presentations and regional ingredients. It’s the best choice for travelers looking to experience traditional flavors without leaving the resort and works equally well for breakfast or dinner.

Sea Grill

Sea Grill specializes in wood-fired Baja seafood and grilled meats in a relaxed beachfront setting. It’s an excellent option for lunch or a casual dinner, with a seasonal menu that highlights local ingredients from both land and sea.

La Botica

If Arbol is the resort’s most romantic restaurant, La Botica is its most distinctive nightlife venue. This Prohibition-inspired speakeasy pairs inventive cocktails with live music in an intimate setting that feels unlike anything else on the property.

One added benefit for guests booking through Rosewood Elite is a complimentary cocktail experience here, making it one of our favorite preferred partner amenities.

La Cava

Hidden beneath the resort, La Cava is an intimate wine room and private dining venue offering one of the most exclusive culinary experiences in Los Cabos. Guests can work directly with the culinary team to create a custom tasting menu paired with selections from the resort’s extensive wine cellar, making it an exceptional choice for proposals, anniversaries, and milestone celebrations.

Tequila & Ceviche Bar

The Tequila & Ceviche Bar combines fresh ceviche with guided tequila tastings led by the resort’s Tequila Masters. The signature Tequila Sign experience helps guests discover a tequila that matches their palate, making it one of the resort’s most memorable culinary activities. View the full menu here.

A Sense of Taste

For guests looking for something beyond a traditional restaurant, A Sense of Taste offers hands-on culinary experiences centered around Baja’s ingredients and cooking traditions. These interactive classes vary seasonally, so we recommend confirming availability before arrival.

If you only have three nights at Las Ventanas, we’d prioritize Arbol for dinner, La Botica for cocktails, and one private dining experience: either La Cava or a beachfront dinner coordinated through the Director of Romance.

Availability and formats occasionally change, so it’s worth confirming before arrival.

The Spa at Las Ventanas

The Spa at Las Ventanas has long been regarded as one of the top resort spas in Mexico. Rather than feeling like a standalone amenity attached to a hotel, it feels fully integrated into the overall philosophy of the property. Like everything else at Las Ventanas, the focus is personalization.

The Four Elements Philosophy

The wellness program at Las Ventanas is built around the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water.  Rather than approaching treatments purely from a beauty or relaxation perspective, many experiences draw inspiration from Baja’s natural environment and traditional healing practices. This creates a wellness experience that feels more connected to the destination itself.

The Spa Experience

The spa distinguishes itself through its indoor-outdoor design and strong connection to Baja’s landscape.

The facility includes:

  • Four free-standing indoor-outdoor treatment cabins
  • Private gardens filled with succulents
  • Oversized soaking tubs
  • Four indoor treatment rooms
  • Hydrotherapy facilities
  • Steam rooms
  • Saunas
  • Cold plunge experiences
  • Relaxation areas
  • Full-service salon

Rather than spending your entire treatment in an enclosed room, many experiences incorporate natural light, fresh air, and private outdoor areas that help reinforce the connection to the surrounding landscape.

Duet Suites for Couples

Given Las Ventanas’ reputation as one of Cabo’s most romantic resorts, it’s no surprise that couples are a major focus of the wellness program. The spa features dedicated duet suites designed specifically for couples’ treatments. These private spaces allow guests to enjoy massages, body treatments, and wellness experiences side by side.

Signature Treatments

The spa offers an extensive treatment menu, with standout experiences including the Mezcal Massage Odyssey, the CBD Stone Massage for post-travel recovery, and advanced Orveda facial treatments, a favorite for wedding parties and guests preparing for special occasions.

Wellness Beyond the Spa

Wellness at Las Ventanas extends beyond treatment rooms.

Guests can also participate in:

  • Yoga classes
  • Pilates sessions
  • Personal training
  • Meditation experiences
  • Reiki treatments
  • Fitness programming
  • Golf and tennis

Other Activities & Services

For Families

While Las Ventanas is best known for romance, it’s become increasingly family-friendly over the years. Highlights include a swim-up ice cream bar at the family pool with a lazy river, putt-putt golf, seasonal Rosewood Explorers activities, and curated touches like personalized robes, embroidered pillows, and a Beanie Baby wagon at checkout.

The resort does not offer a traditional year-round drop-off kids club, though supervised programming is available during major holiday periods and babysitting services can be arranged year-round.

The main consideration for families is that Las Ventanas does not offer connecting rooms, so many families either book a villa or plan to share a larger suite. For those who can stretch to a villa, the added space, privacy, and personalized service make it an especially rewarding family experience.

The Director of Romance

Perhaps no role better captures the personality of Las Ventanas than the Director of Romance. Few luxury resorts have created an entire department dedicated to helping guests celebrate meaningful moments. Whether guests are planning a proposal, honeymoon, anniversary, vow renewal, or simply a romantic getaway, the Director of Romance team helps bring those experiences to life.

Some of the most popular experiences include:

  • Private beachfront cabana dinners
  • Rooftop Romance Escapes
  • Proposal planning
  • Arbol Sunken Table celebrations
  • Customized Path to Love experiences
  • Sleep Under the Stars experiences
  • Fireworks celebrations
  • Villa romance packages

The Cinema Proposal

The most famous offering may be the Cinema Proposal. The Director of Romance works with guests ahead of arrival to create a custom video that is secretly loaded onto the television in the room. At the perfect moment, the video begins playing. Champagne appears. Rose petals are arranged throughout the room. And the proposal unfolds. It’s the kind of detail that perfectly captures what makes Las Ventanas unique.

Villa Hosts

The Villa Host program is another reason the hotel has a high repeat rate.  Each Signature Beach Villa comes with a dedicated Villa Host trained across virtually every department of the resort.

They can help coordinate:

  • Dining reservations
  • Spa appointments
  • Transportation
  • Excursions
  • Celebration planning
  • In-villa experiences
  • Last-minute requests

Rather than speaking with multiple departments, guests have a single point of contact throughout their stay.

Pool Butlers & Thoughtful Details

Las Ventanas excels at small details. Throughout the hotel, guests encounter little gestures that end up elevating the experience.

Pool Butlers assist guests throughout the day at the main pools.

Services may include:

  • Food and beverage service
  • Chilled towels
  • Sunglasses cleaning
  • Assistance with technology
  • Personalized poolside setup

Then there are the details that guests remember long after they return home.

The Tequila Welcome

Guests are welcomed with in-room tequila amenities that immediately establish a sense of place.

Aromatherapy Turndown

Each evening, guests can select from several aromatherapy blends for a customized turndown experience.

Bed Sheet Menu

Available in select accommodations, guests can choose from various luxury linens designed to personalize sleep preferences.

The Glass Hearts

This may be our favorite tradition at the resort. Returning guests receive handcrafted glass hearts representing the number of stays they’ve completed at Las Ventanas. Different colors signify different milestones. It’s a simple idea. Yet it perfectly captures the emotional connection the resort has cultivated with its guests over the years.

The Canine Delight Program

Even pets receive the Las Ventanas treatment. The Canine Delight program goes far beyond simply allowing dogs on the property. Guests traveling with pets can enjoy:

  • Custom dog menus
  • Pet cabanas
  • Dedicated dog walks
  • Canine parties
  • Spa treatments
  • Neck massages for dogs

It might sound excessive until you realize how many guests consider their pets part of the family. Las Ventanas understands that.

Who Las Ventanas Is Best For

Honeymooners & Anniversary Travelers

If a client asks us for the most romantic resort in Cabo, Las Ventanas is usually our first recommendation. There are several reasons for that. First, the resort’s service model naturally lends itself to romantic travel. The Director of Romance is a genuine differentiator, not a marketing gimmick.

And, the accommodations are designed with couples in mind, from the private terraces, fireplaces, outdoor soaking tubs, and more. If we were planning a honeymoon in Cabo tomorrow, Las Ventanas would be one of the very first resorts we’d consider.

Multigenerational Families & Groups

Although Las Ventanas is often positioned as a couples resort, that doesn’t mean families should overlook it. In fact, the resort offers some of the most impressive accommodations in Cabo for larger groups.

The Signature Villas, residences, and Ty Warner Mansion are particularly well-suited for:

  • Milestone birthdays
  • Family reunions
  • Multigenerational vacations
  • Holiday gatherings
  • Special celebrations

Families will also appreciate:

  • Child-sized robes and slippers
  • Seasonal children’s programming
  • Babysitting services
  • In-room baby amenities
  • Family-friendly pool areas
  • Family pool with a small lazy river

One thing worth noting, however, is that families with very young children who prioritize ocean access may find resorts such as Montage Los Cabos or Four Seasons Costa Palmas more aligned with their travel style.

Spa & Wellness Travelers

While Cabo isn’t always viewed as a wellness destination, Las Ventanas makes a compelling case. The Spa at Las Ventanas remains one of the strongest wellness offerings in the region, and the resort’s overall atmosphere naturally supports a slower pace.

Guests can spend their days moving between:

  • Spa treatments
  • Yoga classes
  • Pilates sessions
  • Fitness programming
  • Poolside relaxation
  • Wellness-focused dining experiences

Who We Would Send Somewhere Else

As much as we love Las Ventanas, it’s not the right fit for everyone. If a client tells us that having a swimmable beach is their top priority, we’re likely steering them toward:

  • Montage Los Cabos
  • Chileno Bay
  • One&Only Palmilla
  • Four Seasons Costa Palmas

If a client is looking for the newest accommodations and a more contemporary design aesthetic, we’re often recommending:

  • Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol
  • Park Hyatt Cabo Del Sol

And if someone wants a more energetic, social atmosphere, Las Ventanas probably isn’t their best match. The beauty of Cabo today is that there truly is a luxury resort for every type of traveler. The key is choosing the right one.

Las Ventanas vs Other Cabo Luxury Hotels

Las Ventanas is frequently compared with Cabo’s other leading luxury resorts, but each excels in different areas. The answer depends entirely on what type of trip you’re planning. Rather than declaring a single “best” resort, we think it’s more helpful to understand what each property does particularly well.

For a broader overview, we recommend reading our Top Luxury Resorts in Cabo: Which Is Best? guide.

Below is how we think about some of the most common comparisons.

Las Ventanas vs One&Only Palmilla

This is one of the most interesting comparisons because both resorts are considered luxury icons in Cabo. The biggest difference is the beach. One&Only Palmilla benefits from one of Cabo’s most desirable swimmable beaches, making it a particularly strong option for families and travelers who want direct ocean access. Otherwise, these hotels have the most similarities compared to the other top luxury hotels in Cabo.

Las Ventanas vs Montage Los Cabos

Montage and Las Ventanas, however, appeal to very different travelers. Montage benefits from Santa Maria Bay, one of the best swimmable beaches in Cabo.

Montage also offers excellent watersports, strong family programming, a more active atmosphere, and one of our favorite restaurants in Cabo, COMAL

Las Ventanas counters with more personalized service, a stronger romance focus, more authentic Mexican design, and another favorite dining experience of ours, Arbol.

Las Ventanas vs Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal

These resorts share several similarities. Both are romantic. Both feel intimate. Both prioritize design and atmosphere. The difference comes down to setting.

Waldorf Astoria Pedregal sits dramatically on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas and offers walking access to restaurants, nightlife, and town. Las Ventanas occupies a quieter stretch of the Tourist Corridor and feels more self-contained. The choice largely depends on whether you prefer proximity to town or a more resort-centric experience.

Las Ventanas vs Four Seasons Costa Palmas

These properties could not feel more different. Costa Palmas sits on the East Cape and delivers a modern luxury experience centered around water.

Guests come to Costa Palmas for swimmable beaches, boating, watersports, contemporary accommodations, and space and privacy.

If we were planning a family vacation built around water activities, Costa Palmas would likely win. For a honeymoon or anniversary, Las Ventanas remains our preference.

Las Ventanas vs Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol

This is a comparison we discuss often. Both are gorgeous resorts and are among our most-booked luxury properties in Cabo. The difference comes down to personality. The accommodations at Four Seasons are unquestionably newer. In fact, if a client specifically tells us they want the newest luxury resort experience possible, Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol is usually our recommendation.

The dining program at Four Seasons is also particularly strong. Cayao remains one of our favorite restaurants in Cabo and is absolutely worth experiencing.

That said, if we were choosing a resort for a honeymoon, anniversary, or milestone celebration, we’d likely lean toward Las Ventanas.

Our Take

One thing we’ve learned after visiting many of Cabo’s top luxury resorts is that there isn’t a universally “best” property. There is only the best property for a specific traveler. For families wanting beach access and activities, we’d often lean toward Montage. For travelers wanting contemporary luxury, we’d often lean toward Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol. For guests seeking swimmable beaches and classic luxury, One&Only Palmilla remains a fantastic choice.

But for travelers seeking romance, personalized service, and meaningful celebrations, Las Ventanas continues to sit in a category of its own. That’s why it remains one of our most recommended resorts in Cabo.

When to Visit Las Ventanas

One of the advantages of Cabo is that it’s a year-round destination. That said, certain seasons are better suited for certain types of travelers.

High Season (November Through April)

This is Cabo at its best.

Expect:

  • Excellent weather
  • Sunny days
  • Low humidity
  • Cooler evenings
  • Peak pricing
  • Highest demand

Whale watching season generally runs from mid-December through April, adding another reason to visit during this period.

Holiday weeks, Presidents’ Week, and spring break book especially far in advance.

Shoulder Season (May, October & Early November)

If we were personally planning a couple’s trip, this might be our favorite time to visit.

You’ll often find:

  • Excellent weather
  • Smaller crowds
  • Better availability
  • Softer pricing

The resort feels especially peaceful during these periods. For honeymooners and anniversary travelers seeking a quieter experience, shoulder season can be one of the best times to plan.

Summer (June Through September)

Summer brings Cabo’s warmest temperatures. It also introduces hurricane season, with September representing the highest risk period. That said, summer can offer tremendous value. Travelers willing to tolerate higher temperatures often find significantly better rates during these months.

One thing worth noting is that Las Ventanas embraces open-air architecture throughout much of the resort. Many common areas, restaurants, and relaxation spaces are intentionally designed to connect guests with the outdoors. During summer, that means you’ll spend more time exposed to the heat than you might at some fully enclosed resorts.

The upside is that the Sea of Cortez reaches some of its warmest temperatures during summer, creating excellent conditions for boating and water-based excursions.

Las Ventanas al Paraíso FAQs

Where is Las Ventanas al Paraiso located?

The resort is roughly 20 to 30 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) and is located along Cabo’s Tourist Corridor, approximately halfway between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.

Is the beach swimmable?

No. The beach at Las Ventanas is not considered swimmable due to strong currents and surf conditions.

Travelers prioritizing beach swimming should also consider Luxury Resorts with Swimmable Beaches in Cabo as alternatives.

Is Las Ventanas family-friendly?

Yes. Families are absolutely welcome, and kids particularly enjoy the family pool with a lazy river.

What is the Director of Romance?

The Director of Romance is one of the things that sets Las Ventanas apart from other hotels nearby. This dedicated team helps guests coordinate:

  • Proposals
  • Anniversaries
  • Honeymoons
  • Vow renewals
  • Romantic dinners
  • Fireworks displays
  • Rooftop celebrations
  • Customized experiences

What is a Villa Host?

Guests staying in Signature Beach Villas receive a dedicated Villa Host. You can think of this role as a personal assistant for your vacation.

Villa Hosts coordinate dining reservations, transportation, spa appointments, celebrations, and special requests throughout the stay.

Is Las Ventanas pet-friendly?

Absolutely. In fact, Las Ventanas is one of the most pet-friendly luxury resorts we’ve encountered.

The Canine Delight program includes:

  • Dog butlers
  • Pet cabanas
  • Custom menus
  • Curated walks
  • Spa treatments
  • Special amenities

For travelers who regularly vacation with their pets, it’s one of the top luxury options in Cabo.

What is the best room category for couples?

For most couples, we’d suggest one of three options:

  • Rooftop Terrace Suite
  • One-Bedroom Oceanview Signature Villa
  • Signature Beach Villa

The best choice depends on budget, length of stay, and how important privacy is to the overall experience.

Is Las Ventanas worth the price?

For the right traveler, absolutely. The value isn’t found in having the newest accommodations or a swimmable beach. The value comes from the service, personalization, atmosphere, and overall experience. Guests who prioritize those things often become repeat visitors.

How many nights should you stay?

We generally recommend:

  • 3-4 nights for anniversary trips
  • 6–7 nights for honeymoons
  • 7+ nights for villa stays and family trips

Anything shorter than three nights tends to feel rushed, since Cabo is a destination with a lot to do.

How far in advance should I book?

For standard suites, several months is usually sufficient. For holiday periods, Signature Villas, residences, and the Ty Warner Mansion, we recommend booking as far in advance as possible. Many premium accommodations sell out long before arrival dates.

Holiday periods deserve particular attention.

Christmas, New Year’s, Presidents’ Week, and spring break often sell out well in advance, especially in premium categories.

Planning early can make a significant difference.

Planning a Stay at Las Ventanas?

As a Rosewood Elite partner agency, Ourisman Travel can help you maximize your stay with preferred partner benefits, room selection guidance, celebration planning, and personalized recommendations based on your travel style.

Our Hotel-Only service is complimentary, and in most cases, you’ll pay the same rate available directly through Rosewood while receiving additional benefits and VIP recognition.

Rosewood Elite can generally be combined with any rates you’ll find directly with Rosewood. The upgrades through Rosewood Elite are also prioritized over upgrades through other programs, so you’ll want to use Rosewood Elite over a program like Virtuoso or Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts.

Whether you’re deciding between Las Ventanas, Esperanza, Four Seasons Cabo del Sol, Chileno Bay, or another luxury resort, we’re happy to help you compare your options and find the best fit.

After visiting nearly every luxury resort in Los Cabos, Las Ventanas remains our top recommendation for travelers celebrating life’s biggest moments. It may not be the newest resort in Cabo, but few properties deliver the same combination of heartfelt service, timeless design, spacious accommodations, and unforgettable experiences.

To check rates, availability, or current promotions at Las Ventanas, contact our team at [email protected] or submit a Travel Request Form. If you’re still exploring your options, we have several resources to help you, including our complimentary booking tool, a Preferred Hotels Map, and detailed blog posts
