Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol: A Complete Review

Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol occupies an interesting place within Cabo’s luxury hotel scene. It is not trying to compete with the traditional elegance of Las Ventanas al Paraíso or the expansive amenities of nearby Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol. Instead, it appeals to travelers who appreciate contemporary design, spacious accommodations, and a more relaxed atmosphere without sacrificing luxury.

We found ourselves recommending this property most often for couples, friend groups, solo travelers, and Hyatt loyalists looking to maximize World of Hyatt points or Hyatt Privé benefits. Families are certainly welcome, and there are thoughtful amenities for children, but this is not a resort where daily programming revolves around kids.

Perhaps the best way to describe Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol is that it feels like a luxury resort designed for slowing down. Most days naturally revolve around breakfast, time at the Beach Club, afternoons at the spa or pool, cocktails overlooking the Sea of Cortez, and dinner either on property or nearby. If that sounds like your ideal vacation, this resort does it exceptionally well.

Consider Another Resort If…

Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol isn’t the perfect fit for everyone, and that’s okay.

You may want to consider another property if:

• You’re looking for the most polished, consistently exceptional service experience in Cabo. In our opinion, Las Ventanas al Paraíso still sets the standard.
• A swimmable beach is a top priority. Like many resorts along Cabo’s Tourist Corridor, the beach here is beautiful to walk on but not safe for swimming due to strong currents.
• You’re traveling primarily with younger children and want extensive family programming throughout the day. The complimentary Roadrunners Kids’ Club is a nice addition, but the resort still feels more adult-oriented overall.
• You’re highly sensitive to food and beverage pricing. Dining was consistently very good, but it is expensive even by Cabo luxury resort standards.
• You prefer established resorts where every operational detail has already been refined. Park Hyatt is still finding its rhythm, which occasionally shows in the service experience.

One thing we appreciated most was that none of these tradeoffs felt hidden. The property already delivers an excellent luxury experience, but understanding where it sits within Cabo’s competitive luxury landscape helps ensure you’ll arrive with the right expectations.

One of Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol’s biggest advantages is its location within the private Cabo del Sol community along Los Cabos’ Tourist Corridor. This puts guests roughly 35 to 45 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), about 20 minutes from Cabo San Lucas, and within easy reach of many of the destination’s best restaurants, golf courses, and luxury resorts.

Uber was consistently the most economical way for us to get around. One evening, we paid nearly twice as much for a taxi to dinner as we did using Uber on the exact same route back to the resort. Unless you’re using the hotel’s transportation or need immediate service, Uber is easily our recommendation.

Another major advantage is the property’s proximity to Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol. The complimentary Mercedes Benz house car makes it easy to enjoy dinner or drinks next door before returning to Park Hyatt later in the evening. It’s a nice option for guests staying several nights who want additional dining choices without traveling into town. The house car is available on a first-come, first- served basis. 

One pleasant surprise during our visit was Ánima Village, the brand-new luxury shopping and lifestyle destination located within the Cabo del Sol community. Although still growing, it’s quickly becoming one of the area’s most exciting additions, with boutique shopping, restaurants, public gathering spaces, and future luxury retailers, including Cartier. We expect this area to become an increasingly valuable amenity for guests over the next few years.

Golfers will also appreciate being next to Cabo del Sol’s Desert Course, originally designed by Tom Weiskopf. It’s worth noting that the famous oceanfront hole often featured in Cabo marketing belongs to the private Cove Club and is not accessible to hotel guests, which can sometimes cause confusion online.

For travelers looking to balance relaxation with easy access to the rest of Los Cabos, we found Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol’s location to be one of its strongest assets. 

From the moment we landed in Los Cabos, the arrival experience felt calm and well-organized. Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) is easy to navigate, and with nonstop flights from many major U.S. cities, getting here is relatively straightforward. We flew through Atlanta, but travelers from Austin also have nonstop Southwest service several days each week, while most other major hubs offer direct options as well.

The drive to Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol typically takes between 35 and 45 minutes, depending on traffic. If you arrange transportation through the hotel or through our Hotel Plus service, expect a polished experience from the start. Our vehicle was stocked with bottled water, fresh pastries from a local bakery, and snacks for the ride, which was a thoughtful touch after a travel day.

As we approached the resort, the architecture immediately stood out. Rather than arriving at a traditional porte cochère and enclosed lobby, guests are welcomed into an open-air arrival courtyard that feels more like a modern town square. Your eye is naturally drawn straight through the lobby toward the Sea of Cortez, creating one of the most impressive first impressions we’ve experienced at a Hyatt property.

Instead of standing at a front desk, we were invited to sit comfortably on a sofa while our Guest Ambassador completed check-in. It immediately felt more personal and relaxed than the typical hotel arrival.

We were welcomed with a refreshing hibiscus mocktail, along with locally made chocolates and candies, while our registration was completed.

One thing that particularly impressed us was how flexible the team remained. Since our suite wasn’t quite ready when we arrived, our butler didn’t simply ask us to wait. Instead, she offered a golf cart tour of the property so we could become familiar with the layout before escorting us to our room. It was a thoughtful use of time and gave us a much better understanding of how the resort is organized before we ever unpacked.

We also had the opportunity to meet the General Manager during check-in, who personally welcomed our team and even recognized Ourisman Travel. That level of leadership visibility always leaves a positive impression and speaks to the property’s emphasis on creating a personalized arrival.

Immediately off the lobby, you’ll also find Dátil, the resort’s coffee shop and boutique, along with Silán’s beautiful lounge space, which currently functions as the property’s primary lobby bar. Even if you’re not stopping for a drink, it’s worth walking through the area simply to appreciate the design.

Despite the property’s size, getting around is surprisingly easy. Golf carts are readily available if you’d prefer a ride, but we found ourselves walking much more often than expected. All guest buildings are connected by paved pathways, and nothing ever felt excessively far away. The longest walk from is from the spa to the beach club, which takes roughly ten minutes. 

For guests with mobility concerns, we found Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol to be relatively easy to navigate. While there are some changes in elevation throughout the property, elevators and paved walkways are available where needed, making it a generally accessible and mobility-friendly resort.

Communication During Your Stay

One of the things Park Hyatt does particularly well is communication.

Every guest is assigned a dedicated butler who serves as the primary point of contact throughout the stay. Rather than relying solely on the front desk, nearly everything is handled through WhatsApp, including restaurant reservations, golf cart requests, spa appointments, and general questions.

Throughout our stay, our butler was consistently responsive during business hours. At the end of each day, he let us know when he was signing off and explained that we could continue texting the same number, with another team member stepping in to assist after hours. Most requests were acknowledged almost immediately, making it feel less like messaging a hotel and more like texting a personal concierge.

That responsiveness became especially valuable after we accidentally locked our passport inside the room safe. After I sent a quick WhatsApp message, someone arrived and unlocked it in less than five minutes. The room phone still serves as a backup, but we rarely used it.

If there is one area where Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol unquestionably exceeds expectations, it’s the accommodations.

The resort offers 163 rooms and suites, including an impressive 88 suites, as well as 3 private oceanfront villas. Even the entry-level accommodations begin at a spacious 649 square feet, immediately placing them among the larger luxury hotel rooms in Cabo.

During our stay, we stayed in a Deluxe Ocean View Suite with a Terrace. After seeing nearly every accommodation type on the property, we left convinced that the rooms are the resort’s biggest selling point.

The design immediately reminded us of Four Seasons Tamarindo. While the two resorts have very different personalities, they share a similar design philosophy. Warm natural materials, clean architectural lines, oversized terraces, and an effortless indoor-outdoor connection create spaces that feel sophisticated without becoming overly formal.

The bathrooms are equally impressive. Large soaking tubs, spacious walk-in showers, double vanities, Le Labo bath amenities, bath salts, plush robes, and generous storage all contribute to a luxurious experience. Water pressure was excellent throughout our stay, something that unfortunately isn’t always guaranteed at newer luxury resorts.

Other thoughtful in-room touches include:

• Nespresso machine
• Chromecast-enabled televisions
• Pillow menu
• Complimentary bottled Bui water
• Wet bar
• Complimentary first round of minibar snacks and non-alcoholic beverages
• Complimentary beach tote to take home
• Complimentary Park Hyatt sun hat to take home

Too often, luxury hotels provide branded accessories that feel off-limits. Here, our butler specifically pointed out that both the woven beach tote and the stylish sun hats hanging on the wall were available for use throughout the stay and to take home afterward. Combined with the complimentary minibar snacks, these details made the experience feel noticeably more generous than competing luxury hotels.

Families are also surprisingly well accommodated. While Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol doesn’t market itself as a family-first resort, the team offers several thoughtful amenities upon request, including Kinderkraft baby equipment, kid-sized bathroom stools, children’s bath products, toothbrushes, and even indoor tents that can be set up inside suite living rooms to create a memorable experience for younger guests.

For multigenerational families or groups traveling together and starting at nearly 2,000 square feet, the two– and three-bedroom Oceanfront Villas are in a completely different category. They offer full kitchens, expansive indoor and outdoor living spaces, private lap pools, and are the resort’s only true oceanfront accommodations, allowing guests to walk directly from their villa to the beach. They also provide the greatest sense of privacy on the property. While someone walking to Costamar Beach Club or playing the adjacent golf course may occasionally catch a glimpse into the backyard, they are far more secluded than the plunge pool suites and feel much more like a private luxury residence than a traditional hotel room.

One of the biggest takeaways from our stay is something that isn’t obvious when you’re booking online.

Building selection can dramatically change your experience, even if you’re reserving the exact same room category.

Our Deluxe Ocean View Suite offered uninterrupted views directly over the Sea of Cortez from the top floor. Meanwhile, another member of our team stayed in the same suite category but primarily looked out over the resort itself, with the ocean visible in the distance. Both are technically qualified as ocean-view rooms, yet they felt completely different.

The higher your room sits and the closer your building is to the Beach Club, the more dramatic your view becomes.

This is exactly where working with a Hyatt Privé advisor becomes valuable. We work directly with the hotel before arrival to request the strongest room placement possible. That can have a much bigger impact on your stay than upgrading to a different room altogether.

Yes, but there are a few things we’d want you to know before booking.

The plunge pool suites are one of Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol’s signature accommodations and a big part of what sets the resort apart. Although we didn’t stay in one ourselves, we toured one during our site inspection and spoke with guests who loved having their own private outdoor space. The plunge pools can also be heated upon request, making them especially enjoyable in the evenings.

That said, room placement matters just as much here as it does with the ocean-view rooms.

All of the plunge pools are located on the ground floor, and privacy varies significantly depending on the suite. Some face directly toward the resort’s walking paths, while others are tucked farther away but can still be seen from the balconies above. Because the landscaping is still maturing, there is currently very little natural screening between many of the suites.

We expect this to improve over the next few years as the gardens fill in, but for now, we wouldn’t book a plunge pool suite expecting complete privacy. If that’s your top priority, the Oceanfront Villas offer a much more secluded experience.

Like many luxury resorts along Cabo’s Tourist Corridor, Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol isn’t a destination where you’ll spend all day swimming in the ocean.

Instead, the resort experience revolves around its pools, spa, and one of its strongest amenities: Costamar Beach Club.

Costamar Beach Club

Costamar Beach Club feels like its own destination within the resort.

Set closest to the ocean, it combines a relaxed beachfront restaurant, adults-focused pools, comfortable lounge seating, and private cabanas in a setting that naturally encourages guests to spend an entire afternoon there. During our stay, it quickly became our favorite place to unwind.

One design feature we especially appreciated was the transition from pool to beach. Rather than creating a hard separation between the resort and the shoreline, portions of the Beach Club blend directly into sandy lounging areas before opening onto the beach itself. It creates a much more natural flow than many Cabo resorts and makes the entire space feel larger than it actually is.

It’s worth noting that the Costamar pool, hot tub, and beach cabanas are reserved for guests ages 15 and older, making this one of the quieter areas of the resort. The Costamar restaurant, however, welcomes guests of all ages, and the beach remains open to everyone.

Families aren’t excluded from the Beach Club experience. They can still enjoy the restaurant and beach, while the main family pool complex near Mesa Madre offers a zero-entry pool for younger children, along with a small sand play area where little ones can dig and play.

If we returned tomorrow, we’d probably spend most afternoons at Costamar Beach Club. The atmosphere is relaxed, the ocean views are beautiful, and because it’s removed from the main pool area, it also feels quieter and more secluded.

The Main Pool

The main pool sits closer to the center of the resort and overlooks both the Sea of Cortez and the Cabo del Sol golf course.

Its U-shaped design creates multiple seating areas, making it feel intimate despite its size.

There are shallow entry areas designed for younger children, plenty of loungers, and private cabanas available for guests looking for additional shade and privacy. The cabana rentals start at $300 per day and the price may change depending on the season. Each cabana rental comes with a fully stocked mini bar, complimentary snacks, a seasonal fruit platter, a television with bluetooth capability, and seats up to 6 people. 

One thing worth mentioning is the ongoing construction adjacent to this pool area. While we’ll discuss it in more detail later in this review, guests relaxing at the main pool will almost certainly notice it.

Because of that, we found ourselves naturally gravitating toward Costamar Beach Club, where the atmosphere felt quieter and completely removed from the construction activity.

Beyond the beautiful setting, the little touches elevate the experience. As you settle into your lounger at the main pool or beach club, the staff brings over a Yeti cooler stocked with bottled water, and throughout the day they periodically circulate with complimentary treats like fresh coconut water served straight from the coconut, chef’s samples such as ceviche, and refreshing popsicles. These small gestures make it easy to spend an entire afternoon without wanting to leave.

The Spa Pool

One hidden gem that deserves far more attention is the spa pool.

Accessible to resort guests, it’s one of the calmest places on the property and pairs beautifully with the hydrotherapy facilities inside Saria Spa.

If you’re looking for a slower-paced afternoon away from the energy of the Beach Club, this is exactly where we’d recommend spending it.

One of the biggest misconceptions about Cabo is that every beachfront resort offers calm swimming conditions. That’s simply not the case.

Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol sits along the Tourist Corridor, where strong currents and rough surf make swimming unsafe. The beach itself is beautiful, though. We enjoyed walking along the shoreline each morning, and the views are absolutely stunning. But this isn’t a beach where you’ll find rows of lounge chairs, drink service on the sand, or guests floating in calm water throughout the day.

In fact, a lifeguard is stationed near Costamar Beach Club specifically to discourage guests from entering the ocean when conditions are unsafe.

It’s worth emphasizing that this isn’t unique to Park Hyatt. Many of Cabo’s most luxurious resorts face the exact same conditions.

If your dream vacation revolves around spending hours swimming in the ocean, we’d instead recommend resorts like Chileno Bay, Four Seasons Costa Palmas, One&Only Palmilla, or Montage, all of which sit on Blue Flag swimmable beaches.

For everyone else, we don’t think this should be a dealbreaker. As long as you arrive knowing the beach is primarily for walking, relaxing, and enjoying the scenery, you’ll likely be just as happy as we were.

Beach Club Service: Our Honest Experience

Because this review is based on our firsthand stay, we also want to be transparent about where things didn’t quite meet expectations.

Service at Costamar Beach Club was inconsistent during our visit. On our first afternoon, a staff member greeted us immediately, helped set up our loungers, brought over water, offered menus, and checked in throughout the day. The following afternoon was the opposite. We had to find our own towels, set up our own chairs, and wait quite a while before anyone acknowledged us or took a drink order.

It certainly didn’t ruin our afternoon, but the contrast was noticeable.

To us, this felt less like poor service and more like a new luxury resort that’s still finding consistency. Throughout the rest of our stay, we experienced several examples of excellent hospitality, so we’re optimistic these occasional gaps will improve as the property matures. If you’re expecting the polished, highly choreographed service of Las Ventanas al Paraíso or Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol, you may notice these inconsistencies. Otherwise, we don’t think they’ll overshadow your stay.

One thing we quickly learned during our stay is that Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol takes its food seriously.

While the property doesn’t have a long list of restaurants like some of Cabo’s larger resorts, each venue feels intentional rather than simply filling space. We never felt like there was a weak option, and every meal we had was thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients and beautiful presentation.

That said, there’s one thing worth mentioning upfront: dining here is expensive.

Even by Cabo luxury resort standards, food and beverage pricing is high. As an example, two cocktails and two quesadillas at the Beach Club came to roughly $125 before additional charges. If you plan on eating every meal at the resort, it’s something to budget for ahead of time.

The good news is that the quality consistently matched what we were eating. We never walked away from a meal feeling disappointed. We just became a little more intentional about where and when we chose to dine.

For guests booking through Hyatt Privé, the included breakfast offsets a meaningful portion of those costs and adds tremendous value to the stay.

Mesa Madre

If we had to pick one standout dining experience at Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol, it would easily be breakfast at Mesa Madre. Quite honestly, it’s one of our favorite breakfast buffets we’ve experienced at any luxury hotel.

Mesa Madre serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but mornings are where it truly shines. The restaurant feels bright and welcoming, with indoor seating as well as a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking the resort.

The buffet strikes a balance between abundance and quality. Rather than overwhelming guests with endless options, everything feels carefully curated.

Fresh pastries are baked daily, traditional Mexican breakfast dishes sit alongside classic favorites, tropical fruit is beautifully presented, juices are freshly prepared, and there are enough rotating specialties that breakfast never felt repetitive. Do not skip the banana bread!

Another feature we appreciated is that Hyatt Privé guests aren’t limited to the buffet. You can also order from the à la carte menu as part of your breakfast benefit, allowing you to mix buffet favorites with freshly prepared entrées.

Costamar Beach Club

The Beach Club restaurant naturally became our lunch destination throughout most of the trip.

The menu leans toward fresh coastal cuisine that’s approachable enough for a relaxing pool day while still feeling elevated.

A few dishes immediately stood out.

The fresh guacamole was excellent and quickly became our go-to starter. The ceviche was bright and refreshing, especially during warm afternoons by the pool, and the quesadillas were far better than you’d expect from what could easily have been a standard pool menu.

Combined with ocean views and an easygoing atmosphere, lunch here never felt rushed.

This is also where we found ourselves ordering our favorite cocktail of the entire trip: the Strawberry Mezcalita. It quickly became our default afternoon drink and is one we’d recommend ordering as soon as you arrive if you enjoy these flavors.

Silán

Although Silán was still settling into its phased opening during our visit, it immediately stood out as one of the property’s most unique dining concepts.

Rather than another seafood-focused restaurant, Silán offers Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine that’s unlike anything else currently available within the Cabo del Sol community.

Even guests we spoke with who had stayed longer consistently mentioned Silán as one of their favorite dinners.

Its lounge also serves as the property’s primary evening gathering space, making it a natural place to stop before or after dinner.

Dátil Coffee Shop

Every luxury resort needs a casual space where guests can grab coffee before breakfast or pick up something quick between activities. Here, that’s Dátil.

Located just off the lobby, it combines a boutique gift shop with an excellent coffee counter serving specialty drinks throughout the day.

It’s a small space, but one we found ourselves walking through several times each day.

One unexpected highlight was Diego, one of the baristas, whose warmth and attention to detail have earned praise from numerous guests. It’s little interactions like these that help create memorable stays.

Our Favorite Dishes and Drinks

After several days of eating our way through the resort, these were the dishes we’d happily order again.

• Mesa Madre breakfast buffet
• Warm banana bread
• Fresh guacamole
• Ceviche
• Quesadillas
• Strawberry Mezcalita
• Fresh tropical fruit
• House-made pastries

Sometimes the simplest dishes ended up being our favorites, which speaks to the quality of the ingredients more than anything else.

Hyatt Privé Breakfast Is One of the Best Perks

If you’re booking through Hyatt Privé, breakfast is one of the best benefits. Guests can enjoy both the buffet and the à la carte menu each morning, making it one of the strongest preferred partner breakfast offerings we’ve experienced.

Food and Beverage Pricing: Our Honest Thoughts

This was probably the biggest drawback we encountered during our stay, and it’s a sentiment we’ve consistently heard echoed by other travel advisors and guests who have visited. Not just “luxury hotel high,” but noticeably above what we’d normally expect, even in Cabo.

Entrees regularly climb above $40 before taxes and service charges, cocktails are priced accordingly, and meals can add up surprisingly quickly if you’re eating every meal on property.

To be fair, this isn’t unique to Park Hyatt. We found neighboring Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol to be similarly priced, if not slightly more expensive.

Still, it’s something we think guests should know before arriving. Fortunately, there are a few ways to offset those costs.

Booking through Hyatt Privé includes breakfast each morning, World of Hyatt members can earn or redeem points, and Cabo San Lucas is close enough that venturing off property for one or two dinners is incredibly easy.

That’s exactly what we’d recommend.

Enjoy breakfast at Mesa Madre every morning, spend one or two afternoons at Costamar Beach Club, then take advantage of the resort’s complimentary Cabo del Sol shuttle or a quick Uber into town for dinner. We found that balance gave us the best overall experience while keeping dining costs a little more manageable.

The spa ended up being one of the biggest surprises of our stay.

Even if you never book a treatment, we highly recommend setting aside a few hours to enjoy the wellness facilities. It’s one of the most peaceful areas of the resort and offers a completely different atmosphere from the pools or Beach Club.

Saria Spa spans an impressive 59,000 square feet and feels every bit as luxurious as the rest of the property. The architecture continues the resort’s modern aesthetic, with calming water features, natural stone, and open spaces that encourage you to slow down.

One of our favorite features was the hydrotherapy circuit.

Both the men’s and women’s facilities are nearly identical and include a steam room, sauna, cold plunge, room-temperature vitality pool with massage jets, and a hot plunge. We especially loved the cold plunge, which was honestly one of the best we’ve experienced at any luxury resort.

The spa pool is another hidden gem. Unlike the main pools, it remains quiet throughout the day and feels designed for guests who simply want to relax with a book between spa sessions. Even if you’re not receiving a treatment, it’s absolutely worth spending time here.

The fitness center overlooks the spa pool and offers a nice mix of Technogym® cardio equipment, strength machines, free weights, and outdoor workout space. Yoga, Pilates, and other fitness classes are also available throughout the week.

Are the Treatments Worth It?

This is probably our most nuanced opinion about the spa. The facilities themselves are exceptional. The massage we received was good. It just wasn’t nearly $400 good.

We’ve happily paid that price at other luxury resorts and left feeling like the treatment itself justified the cost. Here, we actually found ourselves enjoying the hydrotherapy circuit more than the massage.

If you’re deciding how to spend your budget, we’d recommend making full use of the spa facilities first. They’re among the best parts of the wellness experience.

Although Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol feels primarily geared toward couples and adults, families certainly haven’t been overlooked.

The complimentary Roadrunners Kids’ Club welcomes children ages 5 through 11 and offers a rotating schedule of activities throughout the day, including arts and crafts, board games, maraca making, and piñata decorating. It is open from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, and is closed from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm daily. Since hours are subject to change, it is always best to confirm with the hotel prior to your stay. 

The team also deserves recognition. Multiple guests we spoke with commented on how engaging and attentive the staff was with younger travelers.

Families staying in suites or villas can also request thoughtful children’s amenities that many luxury hotels don’t automatically provide.

These include Kinderkraft baby equipment, children’s bath products, toothbrushes, kid-sized bathroom stools, and even indoor tents that can be set up inside the suite for younger guests.

It’s a nice reminder that while the resort isn’t built around children, families are genuinely welcomed.

That said, we still wouldn’t consider Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol one of Cabo’s premier family resorts.

Compared to properties like Montage Los Cabos, Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol, or Chileno Bay, the overall family programming is still fairly limited. Most families we saw spent their days rotating between the pools, the Beach Club, and excursions around Cabo rather than participating in organized resort activities.

Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol isn’t a resort packed with nonstop scheduled activities.

Instead, it excels at creating an environment where guests naturally settle into a slower rhythm.

A typical day might begin with breakfast at Mesa Madre, followed by a morning at Costamar Beach Club, an afternoon in the spa, cocktails before dinner, and an evening enjoying the property’s restaurants or heading into Cabo San Lucas.

If that’s your ideal vacation, you’ll probably love it here.

For guests looking for more variety, there are still plenty of options.

On the property you’ll find:

• Five swimming pools
• Saria Spa
• Fitness classes
• Yoga
• Cooking experiences at Mesa Madre
• Roadrunners Kids’ Club

Just outside the resort, even more opportunities become available.

One of our favorite discoveries was Anima Village, the brand-new luxury shopping and dining destination within the Cabo del Sol community. As more boutiques and restaurants continue opening, we think this will become one of the area’s biggest attractions.

Guests can also take the complimentary Cabo del Sol shuttle to Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol for dinner, play the nearby Cabo del Sol Desert Course, book whale watching excursions during the winter months, explore San José del Cabo’s famous Art Walk, or spend an evening in Cabo San Lucas, which is only about twenty minutes away. Because this is one of the newest luxury resorts in Cabo, we think it’s important to be transparent about the current construction.

During our stay, work was actively underway on a new resort building adjacent to Building Five, scheduled to be complete in October 2026, as well as another project near the main pool that will eventually become a Soho House members’ club, scheduled to open in November.

Construction for this is visible. At times, it’s also audible. Whether or not it impacts your stay depends largely on where you spend your time.

At the main pool, the construction was impossible to ignore. The pool faces the ocean in a U-shaped layout, meaning guests are either looking directly toward the work or sitting with it immediately to the left of them. The resort has done a nice job positioning cabanas to partially screen the view, but it doesn’t completely disappear.

Fortunately, the experience is very different at Costamar Beach Club.

We never noticed construction there, either visually or from a noise standpoint, which became another reason we naturally gravitated toward spending our afternoons there instead of the main pool.

Landscaping is another area that will continue improving over the next year or two.

Because the resort only recently opened, many of the gardens haven’t fully matured yet. Once they do, we think the property will feel noticeably more lush while also improving privacy around the plunge pool suites.

If we were booking today, we’d request a room farther from the construction and plan to spend more time at the Costamar Beach Club than the main pool until these projects are complete.

While Los Cabos is a year-round destination, your experience can vary quite a bit depending on when you visit. Weather, pricing, crowds, and even whale watching season all play a role in deciding when to book.

High Season (November through April)

This is Cabo at its best.

Expect sunny days, low humidity, and daytime temperatures typically ranging from the mid-70s to low 80s. It’s also the busiest time of year, particularly around Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, Presidents’ Day, and spring break.

If you’re hoping to visit during one of these periods, we recommend booking several months in advance.

This is also whale watching season, making it the perfect time to combine your resort stay with a boat excursion.

Shoulder Season (May and October)

If we’re booking our own trip, this is probably when we’d choose to visit.

Temperatures begin warming up, but the weather remains beautiful, crowds are smaller, and room rates are often noticeably lower than peak winter pricing.

Summer and Early Fall (June through September)

Summer brings warmer temperatures, higher humidity, and the beginning of hurricane season.

While storms rarely impact Cabo directly, September is historically the month with the highest risk of tropical weather. Travel insurance is strongly recommended if you’re visiting during this period.

The upside is that you’ll often find the lowest room rates of the year.

How Long Should You Stay?

We think three to five nights is the sweet spot.

Three nights give you enough time to enjoy the Beach Club, experience the spa, and have dinner both on and off property.

If you’re planning whale watching, golf, boating excursions, or exploring San José del Cabo, we’d recommend extending your stay to five nights.

Is Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol open?

Yes. Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol opened in late 2025 as the first Park Hyatt in Mexico. While the resort is fully operational, some construction and landscaping projects are still ongoing, and we’ll continue to update you as the property evolves.

Is Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol worth it?

Yes, provided you’re looking for the right type of experience.

If you value beautiful design, spacious accommodations, an outstanding breakfast, and Hyatt loyalty benefits, we think it’s an excellent option.

If flawless service is your highest priority, we’d currently lean toward Las Ventanas al Paraíso or Four Seasons Cabo Del Sol.

Does Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol have a swimmable beach?

No.

The beach is beautiful for walking, but the currents are strong, and swimming is not recommended. A lifeguard is stationed near Costamar Beach Club to discourage guests from entering the water.

If a swimmable beach is a priority, we’d recommend Chileno Bay, One&Only Palmilla, Four Seasons Costa Palmas, or Montage Los Cabos instead. You can also view our swimmable beach guide in Cabo here.

Are the plunge pool suites worth upgrading to?

Absolutely.

They’re one of the property’s signature room types. Just keep in mind that all plunge pool suites are located on the ground floor, and privacy varies considerably depending on the room’s location. Some suites face the resort’s walking paths, while others are more tucked away but can still be overlooked from balconies above. Until the landscaping has more time to mature, we’d recommend choosing a plunge pool suite for the outdoor living space and experience rather than expecting complete privacy.

Is Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol family-friendly?

Yes, although we wouldn’t describe it as a family-focused resort.

The complimentary Roadrunners Kids’ Club, Kinderkraft baby amenities, zero-entry pool, and spacious villas all make it a comfortable option for families.

That said, couples and friend groups are still the travelers we think will enjoy the property most.

Is breakfast included?

Yes. Hyatt Privé guests receive complimentary daily breakfast.

Even better, breakfast isn’t limited to a basic buffet. Hyatt Privé guests can enjoy Mesa Madre’s exceptional breakfast buffet, order from the à la carte menu, or combine both.

It’s genuinely one of the best breakfast benefits we’ve experienced.

How far is Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol from the airport?

Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) is approximately 35 to 45 minutes away by car, depending on traffic.

The hotel can arrange private transportation, or we recommend Uber for trips into Cabo San Lucas due to its significantly lower pricing compared to local taxis.

Is there construction at Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol?

Yes.

At the time of our visit, construction was taking place to the left of the main pool and adjacent to Building Five.

The Beach Club and spa remained largely unaffected, which is where we found ourselves spending most of our time.

We’ll continue updating this review as construction progresses.

Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol vs. Four Seasons Cabo del Sol?

While both sit within the Cabo del Sol community, they offer different experiences.

Four Seasons feels more established and delivers a more polished level of service throughout the resort.

Park Hyatt offers more contemporary design, stronger World of Hyatt value, exceptional suites, and a younger overall feel.

If you’re deciding between the two, we’d choose Four Seasons for milestone celebrations centered around service, and Park Hyatt for travelers prioritizing design, Hyatt points, and value.

Would we stay here again?

Definitely! We’d book a higher-floor suite, enjoy breakfast at Mesa Madre every morning, spend afternoons at Costamar Beach Club and the spa, venture into Cabo for one or two dinners, and let Hyatt Privé take care of the rest.
